As the holidays approach, light displays help Loudoun residents to get into the spirit of the season. Read ahead for local places to visit as well as some professional displays that are just a short drive from Purcellville.

Local (this is temporary information it will be updates as soon as light displays start going up): For Purcellville residents looking for extravagant lights local neighborhoods such as The Highlands, Round Hill Villages, Stoneleigh, and Locust Grove have beautiful light displays. The Highlands have some good lights, you may have to drive up and down the streets in order to find the best ones. The Round Hill Villages has many houses with organized lighting arrangements all over the development. You will most likely have the best luck of finding pretty lights to look at. Stoneleigh has spread out houses, so it’ll be a little of a drive in order to get from house to house and there are only a few houses with good lights to see, but the ones with lights are very good and worth the drive around. The lights are very clean looking. Locust Grove is very similar to the Round Hill Villages but has a greater selection of lights to see, along with the crazy lights that many look forward to.

Professional Displays: The Gaylord National Resort at The National Harbor includes a display of over two million lights, and according to their website, “dancing fountains, and nightly snowfall.” There is also a separate event, called ICE, which is a walk through display of ice sculptures that are made into a theme for each year.
