The Franklin Park Big Band will perform at Franklin Park in Purcellville, Sunday, March 2, at 3:00pm to raise money for Save the Tail’s rescue efforts.  Tickets are $10 at the door. During intermission, the organization will be selling Save the Tails sweatshirts, T-shirts, and socks.   Baked goods will also be available.  There will be light fare served as well.

Save the Tails is a volunteer-based non-profit organization that rescues dogs throughout Virginia from shelters with a high-kill rate.  Founded by Lisa Carter, the organization places dogs in the right homes for both the owner and dog.  Each dog is spayed, neutered, and even micro-chipped in order to prepare them for their future home.

“Save the Tails is a great organization,” said senior Shannon Sullivan.  “I’ve volunteered there and it’s really rewarding watching all the good they do.”

The organization holds an adoption event run by volunteers at the PetCo in Leesburg on Sundays from 1:00 to 4:00pm where over 200 dogs have been adopted.  This will be the first benefit concert they will host.
