WMAA Sponsors a Fine Arts Gala

A Fine Arts Gala was held May 13th to benefit the Woodgrove Fine Arts Department. Sponsored by the booster club, WMAA, the doors opened at 6:30 p.m. and performances started promptly promptly at 7:00 p.m.

The night was full of art displays, drama productions, and musical performances. Desserts and refreshments were provided as well. Art work from Woodgrove students, along with artwork from local elementary schools and Harmony Middle School, was auctioned off during the night.

The goal was $7-8,000 to be raised this year. The money is split between the various departments and used to support the work of the fine arts department overall.

“Being featured in the art display makes me very proud of myself,” says sophomore Gabba Heinze. “It gives me a chance to show my work to others and prove myself to people who may not have believed in me. It’s also a really great way to get fundraising for the departments.”

In addition to the art displays and auction, there were live performances by the music department and drama department, including a performance by Forensics state champions, Dillon Douglasson and Wyatt Ellerbeck.
