On Tuesday February 25, 2025, a new IHOP restaurant opened its doors to the public in Purcellville, VA. Since it opened, it has given the Purcellville area many new opportunities.
The area can experience more community activity and growth with more culinary diversity. Kelsey Hutchings, a senior, mentioned how the IHOP brings breakfast spots to the Purcellville area. She commented, “It’s a good breakfast place, and other than Tammy’s Diner, we didn’t have a lot of good breakfast places around here.” Senior Landon Hershey explained how the new IHOP helps other restaurants not get stale, saying, “Since the IHOP offers variety, it gives people chances to take a break from the other restaurants, so they won’t get bored of them.”
Breakfast lovers will be glad that an IHOP has opened near them that brings their favorite meals until 10 p.m. five days a week and 12 a.m. two days a week. Hutchings explained that a group of artsy individuals will benefit from the breakfast for dinner. “The theatre department always goes to IHOP after a show, so it’s really nice for them that it’s closer,” she said. A nice environment helps people get comfortable and focused. Hutchings stated, “It’s a nice environment if you wanted to study or go to it with a big group”
The new IHOP does not just exist for people to eat, since it is also for students who need a part time job. Olivia Priddy, a sophomore, and Natalia Montalvo, a senior, who are both part time student employees at the IHOP in Purcellville, talked about the many opportunities that the IHOP brings to students looking for a part time job. “It helps students have time to come here and work after school. The job helps us make money because it’s an easy first job. It helps make money and save up for college,” Priddy explained.
Priddy and Montalvo also touched on how they are coping with the mass popularity the new IHOP has. Montalvo said, “Everything is really busy and we’re trying our best to treat everyone equally so they can all have a table to eat at.”
The new IHOP in Purcellville has been open for a couple of weeks, and has been the centerpiece of the area by giving Purcellville new opportunities. Open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and from 7 a.m. to 12 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, this new IHOP is ready for even more customers.
