After teaching at Woodgrove for nine years, long time Theatre Director David Noland will be moving on to Independence High School in Ashburn, VA as the new Theatre Director and Fine Arts Department Chair.

Noland helped build Woodgrove’s Theatre program, opening the school in 2010. He has led a successful program, directing 55 productions, overseeing 25 student-directed plays, garnering eleven Cappies nominations, and winning two VHSL One-Act Play District Championships. As the Forensics and One-Act Film Festival coach, Noland’s Forensics teams have won two gold medals, four silver medals, and one bronze medal in the VHSL State Championships, while the Film Festival team has earned two state championships.

Although he will be missed, Noland is looking forward to change. “It will be a change, and change is definitely good. It pushes you out of your comfort zone,” says Noland.
