The Force Awakens Another Star Wars Movie

Written by Adam Hudler, The Woodgrove Outlander

‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ was released to theaters across the globe on December 18, 2015. Movie theaters were packed from coast to coast. Tickets were sold out for the seven o’clock premiere at Cobb Theater in Leesburg by late October. Seats were filled even earlier with the only open spots located in the front of the theater.

The movie itself was what I and millions of other Star Wars fans expected: worth the hype. Opening with the traditional scrolling plot lines, the movie theater exploded with clapping for nearly two minutes. From the opening scene to the final credits the audience was on its feet as the action packed movie dazzled with enhanced visual quality and impressive sound effects. The twists and turns in the plot were unexpected but still essential to the film’s ending.

The acting was superb and the locations filmed at were perfect for the visual appeal. As expected, Harrison Ford and his character Han Solo were well received by the audience but contributed more to the story than most had predicted. Chewbacca was a real treat as well, along with the appearances of Princess Leia and Luke. Many fans were contemplating the effectiveness of a new villain in the Star Wars series, but I saw the new villain as the ideal antagonist for any other Star Wars episode, this one in particular.

‘Star Wars’ officially broke the box office records of ‘Titanic’ and ‘Jurassic World’ recently and may break more records in due time. As expensive as movie theaters are today, watching ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ several times is worth the hefty fee. Expect super fans to see the movie more than just once.
