The Woodgrove girls’ lacrosse and softball teams both racked up state victories at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia on Saturday, June 11.  Both teams were crowned the 4A state champions, the third state title for both teams in Woodgrove’s six-year history.

The girls’ Lacrosse team defeated George Mason High School 18-6 on Saturday morning. This was the Lady Wolverine’s fourth time facing the Mustangs this spring, winning three and losing one game. Under Head Coach Bob Fuller, the team has won three consecutive state titles.

Woodgrove girls’ softball team also seized their third state title last weekend against Fauquier High School. In a shutout game, Sophomore Camryn Dolby pitched a no-hitter, winning the state championship game 19-0.  Under the leadership of Coach Joe Spicer, Woodgrove’s softball team has made a state final appearance every year since the founding of the school in 2010.
