Get ready for an electrifying football clash as the Woodgrove Wolverines gear up to face off against Loudoun Valley on November 3rd, seven o’clock, at Loudoun Valley High School. Despite a rocky start to the beginning of the season, the Wolverines have found their stride and are determined to emerge victorious. With the Woodgrove community rallying behind them, the Wolverines are ready to unleash their full potential on the field and win for the thirteenth time, while also defending their title as the best Football team in Western Loudoun.

After losing the first three games of the season, the Wolverines have turned it around with dominating wins over Independence and Park View. “The loss against Heritage was eye-opening for our team. We took time to work on the little things and start over from square one. The two week bye gave us time to rethink how we operated and how we came to practice every day wanting to get better instead of just getting through the day,” stated senior Rett Dean. The players have been pushing themselves to the limit during practices, honing their skills and strategizing for this upcoming rivalry game. With Woodgrove’s team heavily influenced by the 2024 Seniors, it is significant for them to show up during their last regular season game. “The rivalry game every year is a test of the senior class’s ability to rally our team and give us one last victory before we head into the playoffs. In short, it defines the season as a success,” commented Dean.

It’s not just the players who are rallying behind Woodgrove; the entire school has come together to bring an incredible atmosphere of support into The Wild cheering section. The cheerleading squad is ready to bring their A-game onto the field. “My personal favorite cheer is cheerio because it hypes up The Wild and gets everyone involved, showing our school spirit,” shared junior Football Manager Claire Thompson. The teachers and staff are also encouraging students to go to the game and wear their brightest Woodgrove colors to school. Woodgrove is showing a unified front in support of the football team, ready to cheer them on to victory and are excited for an even better postseason performance.

As the anticipation builds, don’t forget to show out to the game and prove who is the best cheering section in the county. The theme is neon or animal print, so make sure you dress up to light up the stands, and be ready to create an electrifying atmosphere that is unmatched in Loudoun County.
