This November, Woodgrove´s Journalism students traveled to Boston, Massachusetts where students participated in a variety of activities. They attended the National Journalism Education Association convention with fellow high school journalists from all across the United States. They got to hear from the Boston Globe’s Spotlight team, and many other talented and successful journalists from all over the country. Walking all over the city of Boston, the students got to see many historical buildings and landmarks. From the Boston Public Library, to the gravesite of Paul Revere, sightseeing was a daily activity after convention sessions.

The students on the trip got a chance to visit and tour some of the colleges that Massachusetts has to offer. They visited Harvard, MIT, and Northeastern. These universities had expansive campuses and historic buildings, which made visiting picture perfect.

Boston Public Library, which was only a short walk from the hotel, was a sight to see.

The architecture inside and outside make the library feel like a museum with its marble staircase, large statues, and detailed murals. The outdoor courtyard fountain of the library creates an extra architectural and surprise addition to the visit. Walking around Boston was an easy way to see the city. Historical buildings, landmarks, the public commons and gardens were all easy to access and walk around.

*Journalism students shared their photos for the galleries to show their educational and fun experience in Boston, Massachusetts.
