Woodgrove’s Own Educators Rising

Educators Rising is an organization supporting and propelling students’ dreams of going into the education field. This past summer, Junior Mackenzie Sullivan and Sophomore Lyla Seneca represented Woodgrove as Educators Rising Ambassadors. In January, Sullivan  traveled to Richmond, Virginia to promote the importance of Career Technical Education (CTE) courses in Virginia Schools.

High school members of Educators Rising embrace teaching as their potential profession, get experience as a teacher before reaching college, are recognized as a student leader, and advocate for education. Educators Rising has a presence throughout the country, and 36 states are official affiliates.

While in Richmond, Sullivan met with the Director of CTE, State Superintendent of Schools, Secretary of Education and Secretary of Labor as well as several state delegates to encourage CTE classes in Virginia school systems.
