Ghastly Group Halloween Costumes

With Halloween quickly approaching, finding a coordinated group costume plan can become more difficult. Woodgrove students have come together to propose costume ideas for a wonderful, but haunting Halloween.

Senior Omar Kettani and his friends had an exciting Halloween a couple years ago. “We went as different horror movie characters,” recalls Kettani. Characters Jason Voorhees, Chucky, Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, and Jigsaw created an unforgettable and horror-filled night. Inspiration hit when “we all wanted to be our favorites,” Kettani says. Together, they made a frightening appearance around Purcellville as they trick or treated.

Group costumes don’t only have to include people. Seniors Aby Fioramonti and Alexis Musselman included their pet horse in their Frozen-themed costume. Adding a furry friend into your group plans is a great way to brighten up Halloween. From The Wizard of Oz’s Dorothy and Toto to The Nightmare Before Christmas’s Jack Skellington and Zero, there are plenty of options to choose from.

Other Woodgrove students chimed in with their ideas for group costumes. A crowd favorite was the inflatable dinosaurs that have been seen for years in Woodgrove’s halls. Sophomore Brady Young loves “a bunch of dinosaurs running down the hallway.”

Camp Half-Blood Costume (Katie Young)

Dressing up as characters from favorite books or movies is another great way to get inspiration. Sophomore Katie Young says, “There was one year my friends and I wore Camp Half-Blood shirts from Percy Jackson. It was fun. We hung out by the firepit and made sure no kids stole the candy.”

No matter what your costume is, dressing up for Halloween is a great way to get in the fall spirit. If you are looking for ideas, check with your peers, stores like Spirit Halloween, social media, and The Woodgrove Outlander to provide striking costumes for friend groups.
