The AFC Rivalry

On October 16th, 2022, the matchup of the century was held between the top two teams in the AFC, the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Last year’s game in the divisional round came down to the coin flip going into overtime. Both of these teams’ offenses were looking unstoppable throughout the action packed game. The Chiefs won the coin toss and drove down the field with ease to win the game 42-36. Bills fans’ were surprised to see their season end with the amount of talented players they had. “It was a  tough game for everyone in the Bills’ community. I was devastated by the outcome of that game,” states sophomore Tom Burley.

Recently heading into week six in the 2022-2023 regular season, the Bills were seeking revenge from last year’s game. Surprisingly, this game wasn’t as offensive focused because the Bills and Chiefs’ defenses made some stops to these power house offenses. Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes threw for 667 yards combined and five touchdowns. Even though both stats are impressive, the Bills squeaked out the win 24-20 with an interception at the end of the game in the 4th quarter.
